Eine herzzerreißende Botschaft.
Der Vater von Romelu Lukaku (32) ist am Sonntag im Alter von 58 Jahren verstorben. Auf Instagram teilte der Stürmer ein Foto von sich als kleiner Junge mit seinem Vater Roger.
Dazu schreibt er: „Danke, dass du mir alles beigebracht hast, was ich weiß. Ich bin dir auf ewig dankbar und schätze dich sehr. Das Leben wird nie mehr so sein wie zuvor. Du hast mich beschützt und geführt, wie kein anderer es könnte. Ich werde nie mehr derselbe sein. Der Schmerz und die Tränen fließen in Strömen. Aber Gott wird mir die Kraft geben, mich wieder aufzurappeln. […] Danke für alles, Papa.“
Roger Lukaku war der Vater der Fußball-Profis Romelu und Jordan Lukaku (31/Adanaspor). Er spielte früher selbst Fußball, war wie sein Sohn Romelu Mittelstürmer.
In seiner Karriere hat er unter anderem 11 Länderspiele für die Nationalmannschaft von Zaire – heute die Demokratische Republik Kongo – absolviert.
[–>Die guten Fußballgene hat er zweifellos an seine Söhne weitergegeben. Romelu ist als Stürmer schon für Chelsea, Manchester United und Inter Mailand aufgelaufen. Ist mittlerweile sogar Belgiens Rekordtorschütze.
Die gesamte Fußballwelt trauert um den Lukaku-Vater. Der belgische Verband schrieb in einer Erklärung: „Nach dem Tod von Roger Lukaku sind unsere Gedanken und Gebete bei der Familie.“
Unzählige Namen, darunter Premier-League-Legende Rio Ferdinand (46) und Lukakus Belgien-Kollege Jeremy Doku (23), haben Romelus Instagram-Post mit Herz-Emojis kommentiert. In den Kommentaren bekunden langjährige Wegbegleiter ihre Trauer.
