The Kansas City Chiefs opened the 2025 season in puzzling fashion. Fans and analysts alike could not understand how the league’s most dominant franchise of recent years appeared to be sputtering through the opening weeks, struggling to find rhythm and consistency.
But there were explanations behind the slow start. Injuries and offensive inconsistency took their toll early on, leaving the reigning powerhouse vulnerable. Once those issues began to settle, however, the Chiefs quickly reminded everyone why they remain the team to beat, beginning with reclaiming control of their division and setting their sights once again on the AFC crown.

When Andy Reid arrived in Kansas City in 2013, he brought a steadier hand to the organization, but the franchise was still missing its most crucial element. Kansas City recovers from a rough start
After dropping their first two games against the Los Angeles Chargers and the Philadelphia Eagles, the Chiefs bounced back with a win over the New York Giants and then delivered a stunning blowout against the Baltimore Ravens, evening their record at .500. That may well be the lowest point of their season.
With the return of Xavier Worthy, the passing attack looks sharp once again, providing Kansas City with the firepower to climb back to the top of their division-right where they belong.
