Cleveland Browns ownership voiced mixed feelings over playing a home game in London on Sunday.
Co-owner Jimmy Haslam spoke at the same conference NFL commissioner Roger Goodell appeared at earlier Thursday, expressing his unhappiness with playing a Browns home game so far away. Cleveland will represent the home team in Week 5 against the Minnesota Vikings, who will play their second consecutive game in a European country.
“I’ll be honest, if the commissioner was sitting here, I’d tell him, I would much rather play at home in Cleveland than travel all the way over to London,” Haslam said. “But hey, we’re team players. We want to do everything we can to boost the league and so we’re going to do our share.”
Goodell held his press conference before Haslam took the podium to announce the league’s plan to launch men’s and women’s professional flag football leagues ahead of the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

While Haslam isn’t thrilled with losing an actual home game to London, he understands what these international opportunities mean to the growth of the league. The process of uprooting the team’s operations for a few days and coming right back seems to be Haslam’s main issue.
“To move that much equipment, for that many people, that quickly, and then get it all back Sunday night because we have to start again on Monday — it’s a challenge,” he said. “But it’s also something you relish and something different.”
When the Browns return from London, they’ll go right into preparation for a Week 6 matchup against the rival Steelers at Acisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. This is only the second international regular-season game the Browns have played, with the first being held in 2017 against the Vikings, also in London. Cleveland doesn’t have a bye until Week 9.

Minnesota and Cleveland will get underway at 9:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Saints agree to 10-year extension to remain in New Orleans through 2035
The New Orleans Saints aren't going anywhere. On Thursday, the Saints announced that they had signed a 10-year lease extension to continue to play at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans through 2035. The Saints have been playing in the Superdome since 1975, and team owner Gayle Benson revealed that she had been working on this deal with the city for quite some time.
