Když se v pondělí fotbalová Plzeň dohodla s koučem Miroslavem Koubkem na ukončení spolupráce, rozběhly se spekulace o jeho nástupci a figuroval mezi nimi i jablonecký kouč Luboš Kozel. Zelenobílí reagovali a s trenérem podepsali novou smlouvu.
„V Jablonci máme rozdělanou práci. Jsem tedy rád za nabídku v klubu pokračovat a za možnost dál rozvíjet to, co zde budujeme. Těším se na další spolupráci,“ řekl Kozel.

Před reprezentační pauzou Severočeši hrají v Olomouci a v případě výhry a zaváhání obou pražských „S“ ve vzájemném zápase poskočí do čela tabulky.
