Sin embargo, sobre el tintero quedan aún muchos temas que tratar, como la posición de Valverde sobre el césped, una que le hace volar jugando de lateral aunque él piense que no ha nacido para ello.

Así las cosas, si Valverde decidió aclarar públicamente que no se había negado a jugar de lateral es porque, sea verdad o mentira, entendió que era necesario aclarar algo. “Muy buen partido. Siempre está dispuesto para jugar donde le toque y ha hecho un gran encuentro. Es muy generoso con el equipo y tiene una gran predisposición. Lo que le gusta es sentirse útil donde juegue y nunca ha puesto ningún impedimento”, explicó el entrenador en rueda de prensa.

¿Cómo ha visto el partido?: “Muy buenas sensaciones. Ha sido un partido trabajado, serio. Teníamos que esperar nuestro momento. Ha costado el primer gol, pero el equipo no se ha descompuesto y llegó el gol de Vini. En la segunda parte podíamos haber liquidado el partido antes”.

¿Cuál era el plan?: “Siempre dominar, ser intenso, ser agresivos cuando no tenemos el balón. En la primera parte recuperamos arriba en un par de ocasiones y casi podemos marcar”.

Partido complicado: “Hemos tenido muy buenas sensaciones ante un equipo de Champions. Teníamos que esperar nuestro momento. Hemos tenido ocasiones para marcar el primer gol en la primera parte. Los jugadores han confiado en el plan. Es una muy buena victoria. En el descanso les dije que había que tener control. Ha sido un encuentro serio e importante por todo”.

Dolores de Mbappé y Mastantuono: “Kylian llevaba una molestia en el tobillo y Franco en el isquio. Vamos a ir siguiendo la progresión cuando se vayan con las selecciones e intentaremos que no haya ningún problema”.

Vinicius: “Me ha gustado mucho, no sólo por los goles. Estoy contento por él. Ha tenido una actuación decisiva. En la primera parte el desequilibrio ha sido total. Me gusta cuando le veo sonreír y disfrutar. Ha estado cerca de marcar el hat-trick”.

Bellingham: “A la vuelta, con dos semanas más de entrenamiento, estará mejor día a día. Va a estar mejor en octubre. Vamos a tener ese tiempo para que termine la pretemporada”.

Cambio en el lanzador en los penaltis: «Han sido ellos lo han decidido, pero nuestro primer lanzador es Mbappé».

Actuación del árbitro: “Si Marcelino no ha querido hablar del árbitro, no seré yo el que me meta en el tema”.
