Bad Bunny took center stage in Studio 8H this weekend to launch the new season of Saturday Night Live, using his opening monologue to do what he does best.

Hosting the Season 51 premiere, the global hitmaker balanced sharp comedy with a heartfelt message about representation as he addressed his upcoming role as the next Super Bowl halftime performer.

Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl could have spoiled who will play for the NFL championship in 2026

“I’m very happy,” he told the cheering audience. “And I think everyone is happy about it. Even Fox News.”

The joke served as a clever setup for an SNL video segment that spoofed the right-wing outrage surrounding his halftime announcement.

The montage featured edited clips of conservative anchors, with the show’s editors humorously making them declare: “Bad Bunny is my favorite musician, and he should be the next president.”

It was classic SNL satire, pointed yet playful, allowing the artist to wink at the media frenzy that has followed him since his Super Bowl news broke.

Switching smoothly into Spanish, Bad Bunny then took a moment to speak directly to the Latino community watching.

“Especially all of the Latinos and Latinas in the world here in the United States who have worked to open doors,” he said.

“It’s more than a win for myself, it’s a win for all of us. Our footprints and our contribution in this country, no one will ever be able to take that away or erase it.”

When he shifted back into English, his grin widened. “If you didn’t understand what I just said,” he teased, “you have four months to learn.”

A surprise from “Juan Jamón”

Just as the audience began to settle from laughter, the host added another twist, introducing SNL favorite Jon Hamm. Or, as Bad Bunny jokingly called him, “Juan Jamón.”

A short clip showed Hamm dancing enthusiastically at one of the singer’s concerts before cameras cut to the actor in the live audience, wearing sunglasses and a bucket hat. The surprise cameo brought another round of cheers and laughter inside Studio 8H.

The bilingual banter and celebrity energy marked a lively start to the new season, setting the tone for a night that blended cultural humor with the kind of confident stage presence that has made Bad Bunny one of the most influential performers in the world.

MLB playoffs 2025: Blue Jays rookie Trey Yesavage shuts down Yankees to put Toronto up 2-0 in ALDS: ‘I’m built for this’

The first start of Trey Yesavage’s 2025 season took place in front of a paying crowd of 327 people. Two tickets, according to the Jupiter Hammerheads’ Instagram page, could be purchased for the low, low sum of $15.And considering how Yesavage pitched that night, it was probably a good thing that so few ball fans rolled through the turnstiles at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter, Florida. Making his minor-league debut for the Low-A Florida State League Dunedin Blue Jays, the 2024 first-rounder walked six hitters across 3 2/3 disjointed innings, surrendering just one hit alongside two unearned runs.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementNothing about that inauspicious performance could have foretold how Yesavage’s campaign would unfurl.[Get more Toronto news: Blue Jays team feed]On Sunday, less than six months removed from that humdrum showing against the Hammerheads, Yesavage shined on a slightly bigger stage.
