Travis Kelce began his 13th season in the NFL, but the Kansas City Chiefs’ 40-22 Super Bowl defeat at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles cast doubt on the tight end’s continuity.
However, after reflecting on his future, the 36-year-old star decided to wear the team’s colors for at least one more season. Despite this, Kelce may already have a job lined up for when he decides to retire.

Currently, the Chiefs TE not only dazzles on the field, but also poses for cameras, acts, and comes across as natural on his podcast “New Heights.”
With his experience in front of cameras and microphones, Travis could find a new job once he decides to step away from the field.
ESPN President Jimmy Pitaro confessed in an interview with the Daily Mail that having Kelce on board could open big doors:
“We’d love to talk to Travis when he’s ready. One of our priorities at ESPN is audience expansion, and that really means attracting a younger audience,” Pitaro said.
Along the same lines, the media executive said that both Travis and his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, are big, popular personalities and that their romance could have an impact on the media just as it has on the NFL:
“[They] are able to do that and they’ve been great for the sport… great for the game of football, great for the NFL, and they’ve been great for the enterprises that carry the NFL. We’re all excited to see what that’s like going forward,” he added.
Thus, if Travis decides to retire at the end of this season, he could join the ESPN team like his older brother and Philadelphia Eagles legend, Jason Kelce. After retiring in 2023, the 37-year-old former center has a three-year, $24 million contract with the network.
However, the truth is that so far, the TE has not set a date for his retirement. Meanwhile, he and Kansas enter their Week 5 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday, October 6, with a 2-2 record.
After defeating the NY Giants (9-22) and the Baltimore Ravens (37-20), the Chiefs will look for a third consecutive victory when they travel to EverBank Stadium.
Meanwhile, if Kelce decides to leave, whether this season or in the distant future, he would do so with this opportunity under his belt.
