Nemrzí vás, že jste nedotáhli zápas do vítězného konce?
Těžko se mi to hodnotí. Bylo to opravdu bláznivé utkání. Dvakrát jsme vedli, sahali jsme po třech bodech a náš výkon byl velmi dobrý. Ke konci ale Plzeň skóre otočila. Našli jsme však v sobě sílu odvézt si alespoň bod, který s pokorou bereme. Má pro nás velkou cenu a věřím, že nám zase dodá sebevědomí.
Vy jste ale divoký závěr musel sledovat jen z lavičky.
Nebylo to nic příjemného, když jsem viděl, jak Plzeň otočila vývoj. O to víc si cením, že se kluci nevzdali a bojovali až do konce. Obrovský dík patří Kučerovi, který to vzal na sebe a vyrovnal na 3:3.
Jaké bylo po tolika letech vrátit se do Plzně?
Moc jsem se těšil. Na stadionu jsem měl kamarády i rodinu. Přiznávám, že to pro mě byl trochu jiný zápas než obvykle. Když jsme přijížděli do města, padla na mě nostalgie. Přece jen mám na Plzeň spoustu vzpomínek. Se začátkem zápasu jsem se ale už plně soustředil na hru.
Komu fandila rodina?
Teď jsme se bavili, že slavili všech šest gólů. (smích)
Padla mezi bývalými hráči Plzně i nějaká sázka?
Počítali jsme, že nás tu bylo osm. Řekli jsme si, že nejdřív musíme něco uhrát, a pak se domluvíme, co to bude. Teď je na nás, abychom něco vymysleli a přispěli do kabiny.
Po Spartě a Slavii jste o body obrali i Plzeň. Čím to, že na jiné soupeře to zatím tolik nejde?
Rozebírali jsme to a snažili se najít příčinu. Když hrajeme proti pražským klubům nebo Plzni, daří se nám víc — asi i proto, že hrajeme zodpovědněji a kompaktněji. Musíme se ale zlepšit v ofenzivě, vytvářet si víc šancí a být produktivnější.
Byla pro vás výhoda, že Plzeň měla v nohách čtvrteční zápas Evropské ligy?
Vím, jak těžké je přepínat mezi soutěžemi, není to nic jednoduchého. Na druhou stranu, Plzeň už podzimní zápřah v Evropě zažila mockrát. Nechci jim do toho mluvit, ale musí se zlepšit. Fandím jim a přeju, aby v pohárech dál vyhrávali. Věřím, že po změně, která přišla, si všechno brzy sedne.
