Last Friday, Shaquille O’Neal shared a video that quickly went viral among his 35.5 million Instagram followers. In the clip, his eldest daughter, Taahira, pleaded with him to moisturize his skin.
The lighthearted video, which played almost like a comedy sketch, surpassed 11,000 likes within just a few hours. In it, Taahira notices her father’s skin is extremely dry and insists that he apply a specific product to take care of it.
Shaq turns heads with Chris Brown dance bid
@shaq “Father, can you please put some of that moisturizer from @prequelskin on please? I’m begging. We have a reputation to uphold,” she wrote. “It’s giving dry-respectfully.”
Taahira, one of O’Neal’s six children, graduated from Oglethorpe University in 2019. Despite growing up largely outside the spotlight, she has developed a vibrant presence on social media, where her interactions with her famous father often delight fans.
A wonderful bond between Shaquille and his daughter, Taahira
Shaq and Taahira share an exceptional relationship, one that extends naturally into their online exchanges. Their playful back-and-forth routinely generates attention, showcasing a side of the Hall of Famer that fans enjoy just as much as his iconic basketball career.
Recently, Taahira posted another clip, this time featuring her father attempting to imitate Chris Brown’s dance moves. With the video, she added a humorous caption aimed directly at her audience:
I asked y’all Uncle for some @chrisbrownofficial tickets. He’s talking about we got Chris Brown at home COME GET HIM.

Taahira reflects on her upbringing compared to her siblings
Born in 1996, Taahira is Shaq’s first child with Arnetta Yardbourgh. The couple eventually split, and O’Neal went on to have five more children, including Myles O’Neal, born in 1997 with Shaunie Henderson. Following her parents’ separation, Taahira stayed primarily with her mother, far from the constant glare of media attention surrounding her father.
My siblings and I, we have different mothers. So, we were raised similarly but differently. Like, I said, my mother is a mental health professional.” … “I wasn’t exposed to everything I’m allowing myself to be exposed to now until I was probably 17 or 18.
That was how Taahira described her experience in 2024, offering a rare glimpse into her life outside the shadow of Shaq’s immense fame.
For her, having her father present and engaged with her and her siblings remains a priority. Whenever they can spend time together, she values every moment. Whether it is through playful videos, heartfelt conversations, or simply enjoying family time, the bond between Shaq and his eldest daughter continues to resonate with fans, proving that the NBA great treasures his role as a father just as much as his legendary career on the court.
