But what was clear on Saturday was that they don’t have a number four in the rotation, as Luis Gil was given the ball instead of Will Warren, and then Luis Gil had to hand it over to his bullpen in the third inning.
“They are big league players, they are there to hit, and they were able to do that tonight. I didn’t expect that. But at the same time Boone is the manager. He makes those decisions,” said Luis Gil.

Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer is listed as questionable for Saturday's rivalry game against Texas on the team's initial availability report, which was released on Wednesday night. Mateer is still working his way back from hand surgery, but he has not been ruled out for the Red River Rivalry yet.Mateer suffered the injury in the Sooners' 24-17 win over Auburn on Sept. 20, and he hasn't played since.
