NFL injury report: Tracking latest news updates for fantasy football in Week 6

Article arrow_drop_down

After a rough slate last week in terms of injuries, we came out of Week 5 relatively unscathed. So for this week, the NFL injury report will be focused more on players potentially returning who can positively impact your lineup and their offenses. Below we’ll recap Week 5 in the injury world while also looking ahead to the Week 6 report.

[Upgrade to Fantasy Plus and gain your edge in player projections and much more]

Week 5 injury recap

Lamar Jackson, QB, Ravens (hamstring): Jackson was held out of the Ravens’ blowout loss to the Texans in Week 5. Baltimore has also been ravaged by injuries on defense and fell to 1-4 on the season. This team is struggling with or without Jackson it seems. The two-time MVP will try to get back on the field in Week 6 vs. the Rams. If Jackson remains out, it’s a downgrade all around for this offense.

CeeDee Lamb, WR, Cowboys (ankle): Lamb missed his second straight game Sunday when Dallas defeated the Jets 37-22. The Cowboys have done a good job withstanding the blow of losing their top wideout. George Pickens and Jake Ferguson have stepped up and we had the coming out party of WR Ryan Flournoy, who had six catches for 114 yards vs. New York. Lamb will have a shot to return in Week 6 vs. the Panthers. Be sure to monitor Lamb’s practice status all week. He could have a designation going into the weekend.

Brock Bowers, TE, Raiders (knee): Bowers popped up late on the practice injury report last week and it devolved into him sitting vs. the Colts. Bowers wouldn’t have helped much in a 40-6 blowout loss. Backup TE Michael Mayer was also sidelined with a concussion. The Raiders need to use caution with their top offensive weapon. Albert Okwuegbunam Jr. had five catches on six targets for 36 yards vs. Indy with Bowers and Mayer out.

Omarion Hampton, RB, Chargers (ankle): Hampton went down with an ankle injury in Week 5 vs. the Commanders and is in danger of missing some time. He was seen in a walking boot after the game and is set to undergo testing. If Hampton is out for Week 6 vs. the Dolphins, Kimani Vidal and Hassan Haskins would be tasked with carrying the backfield.

Chuba Hubbard, RB, Panthers (calf): This was arguably the most impactful injury of Week 5. With Hubbard sidelined, RB Rico Dowdle went off for 200+ total yards and a score in the Panthers’ 27-24 win over the Dolphins on Sunday. Hubbard will have a chance to return if he can get on the practice field this week. Despite the franchise being committed to Hubbard, we could see more of a split in the backfield with Dowdle after Week 5. If Hubbard remains out, Dowdle is a strong RB2 in fantasy.

Bucky Irving, RB, Bucs (foot/shoulder): Irving is likely to remain sidelined for Week 6 so we’ll see Rachaad White lead the backfield again. White finished with 18 touches for 71 yards and two TDs in Week 5. We didn’t see much work for Sean Tucker, so if you are an Irving manager, hopefully you also have White.

San Francisco 49ers

Jauan Jennings, WR (ankle/ribs)
Ricky Pearsall, WR (knee)
Brock Purdy, QB (toe)

The Niners need their own section of this article because of all the injuries. Not listed is TE George Kittle (hamstring), who is a “long shot” to return in Week 6. Jennings, Pearsall and Purdy were all sidelined for San Francisco’s TNF upset of the Rams. It would seem all three are candidates to return in Week 6 vs. the Bucs but we’ll need to monitor practice reports. WR Kendrick Bourne stepped up on TNF with 10 catches for 142 yards. If Pearsall and Jennings remain out, Bourne should continue to be the lead wideout alongside Demarcus Robinson. Jake Tonges has also quietly been very good filling in at TE for Kittle.

MLB playoffs 2025: Aaron Judge did his part, but the New York Yankees, once again, failed to win the World Series

NEW YORK — Statistically speaking, Aaron Judge had a nice day.In Game 4 of the ALDS, he went 2-for-4 with an intentional walk. His two outs were a strikeout and a 112-mph liner smoked right at the second baseman. He made a few nice plays in the field. Judge did not send one flying to the heavens — not every day is Christmas — but it was a productive trip to the office.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementYet he finished the evening in the same scattered fashion he has finished every year of his career. Disappointed, downtrodden, his eyes puffy and distant with the remnants of tears, his words low and tired. Once more, Judge’s Yankees did not win the World Series. MLB playoffs 2025: The Phillies won a must-win game. Did the Dodgers lose one, too?

LOS ANGELES — However this NLDS plays out — whether the Los Angeles Dodgers hold on or the Philadelphia Phillies stage the comeback of these playoffs — many will point to Kyle Schwarber's 455-foot home run that hurtled through the air and over the right-field pavilion of Dodger Stadium as the turning point.Phillies manager Rob Thomson certainly did after the game, telling reporters the blast "sort of woke everybody up and got a lot of energy going in the dugout."It was an enormous home run, yes, one that seemed to fully break the Phillies out of a malaise that had so far cost them two games in the series. However, Schwarber went on to hit a second, less numerically impressive homer, and that one might be just as important because it might as well have gone on the Game 4 […]
