Na led Komety se vrátí její bývalý obránce Radek Kučeřík, který obléká dres Ilvesu, další bývalý brněnský hráč Ondřej Kos, jehož souží zranění, zůstal ve Finsku a na jeho souboj s bratrem Jakubem hrajícím za Kometu nedojde.
Brňané v neděli v extralize utnuli sérii čtyř porážek v řadě, když si doma poradili 3:1 s Karlovými Vary a v tabulce nejvyšší soutěže jsou na konci úvodní čtvrtiny základní části třetí.
Brněnskému celku ale nabobtnala marodka, k níž přibyl centr Lukáš Cingel, který se tak přidal k obráncům Brandonu Davidsonovi, Filipu Královi s Tomášem Bartejsem a finskému forvardovi Arttuovi Ilomäkimu.
„Na rovinu vám řeknu, že ve středu do Ligy mistrů v plné sestavě nepůjdeme. Teď zase doktoři pracují na Lukáši Cingelovi, se kterým to nevypadá vůbec dobře, takže nevím, jak to poskládáme. Někteří hráči určitě dostanou volno,“ uvedl po nedělním utkání trenér brněnského celku Kamil Pokorný.
Ani Ilves ale včera večer na jih Moravy nepřicestoval v kompletním složení. Díky čtyřem výhrám si finský celek zajistil s předstihem účast v play off Ligy mistrů. Ale zatímco na mezinárodní úrovni se Tampere daří, v domácí soutěži je překvapivě až na předposlední patnácté pozici.
„Jsme si vědomi toho, že se od nás očekává víc. Máme jasně daná pravidla, co se musí plnit a co je potřeba zlepšit. Pracujeme na tom dál a dál. Začátek je složitý a moc vítězných zápasů tam od nás není, ale chceme se posouvat,“ uvedl obránce Ilvesu Radek Kučeřík, který ještě loni na jaře oblékal dres Komety, kde působil od patnácti let.
Tradičnímu finskému klubu patří kromě něj a Ondřeje Kosa ještě brankář Dominik Pavlát a útočník Lukáš Jašek, jejichž start v dnešním zápase je ale nejistý.
„Jak je dobře známo, náš tým měl a bude mít mnoho absencí až do listopadové reprezentační přestávky. Dáme ve zbývajících zápasech Ligy mistrů prostor našim mladým hráčům ukázat se a zároveň se podělit o zátěž v těžkém programu zápasů,“ uvedl pro klubový web Ilvesu sportovní manažer Timo Koskela.
