Paratici byl v lednu 2023 potrestán za to, že během předchozího angažmá v Juventusu falšoval účetnictví při přestupech. Italský funkcionář jakékoliv pochybení odmítl, s odvoláním ale opakovaně neuspěl.
Třiapadesátiletý Paratici kvůli aféře v květnu 2023 odstoupil z funkce sportovního ředitele Tottenhamu. Nyní ji bude vykonávat společně s Johanem Langem, jenž dosud v klubu působil jako technický ředitel.
V aféře, za kterou Paratici dostal v září také podmínku na 18 měsíců, figuroval i někdejší viceprezident Juventusu Pavel Nedvěd. Současného manažera české reprezentace však sportovní tribunál osvobodil a od soudu dostal podmínku na rok a dva měsíce.
