The 2025 NFL Draft was full of surprises, but few moments stood out like Travis Hunter’s. Selected second overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars, Hunter didn’t just walk onto the stage he danced his way into the hearts of fans. His spontaneous moves highlighted his exuberant personality and set the tone for what Jaguars fans can expect.
Hunter’s selection came after the Jaguars executed a significant trade with theCleveland Browns to secure the No. 2 overall pick. In exchange, Jacksonville sent their No. 5 pick, along with second and fourth round selections in 2025 and their first round pick in 2026, to Cleveland. This bold move underscored the Jaguars’ commitment to acquiring Hunter, a standout two way player from Colorado and the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner.
Travis Hunter dances his way onto NFL Draft stage
Known for his versatility, Hunter excelled as both a wide receiver and cornerback during his college career. In the 2024 season, he recorded 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 receiving touchdowns, along with one rushing touchdown. Defensively, he notched four interceptions, 11 pass breakups, and 36 tackles.
Hunter’s college accolades are equally impressive. Additionally, he secured the Walter Camp Award and was named the Associated Press College Football Player of the Year.
Despite having minimal interaction with the Jaguars outside of the NFL Combine, Hunter expressed enthusiasm about joining the team. He confirmed plans to play both offense and defense in the NFL, a rarity in modern professional football.
As the Jaguars look to build a dynamic roster, Hunter’s unique skill set and charismatic presence promise to bring a new level of excitement to Jacksonville. Fans are eager to see how this two way star will make his mark during his rookie season in the NFL.
