Micah Parsons stunned after Cowboys’ selection of Tyler Booker and issues serious warning

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons was caught off guard Thursday night when the team selected Alabama guard Tyler Booker in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Parsons, never one to hold back, took to social media shortly after the pick and voiced his shock–then followed it up with a pointed message.

“No way,” Parsons wrote on X (formerly Twitter), adding a facepalm emoji. His initial reaction went viral almost immediately, sparking heated debate among fans and analysts about the Cowboys‘ decision. The pick of Booker, a powerful yet raw interior lineman, was widely seen as a reach, especially with higher-ranked prospects still on the board.

Parsons later clarified his stance during a livestream, saying, “It’s not about Booker personally. I’ve watched the tape. He’s a beast. But we needed someone NFL-ready now, not a project.”

Parsons urges front office to ‘get serious’

The two-time All-Pro linebacker didn’t stop there. He urged the Cowboys‘ front office to “get serious” about winning, emphasizing the team’s shrinking Super Bowl window. “We don’t have time to develop guys for three years,” Parsons said. “We’ve got the pieces to win now. Don’t waste that.”

Parsons’ comments have ignited speculation about internal tension within the Cowboys organization. While the team has yet to respond publicly, insiders say there’s growing pressure on the front office to prove this draft class can contribute immediately.

Tyler Booker, who anchored the Alabama offensive line with physicality and upside, will now enter the league under immense scrutiny – especially with one of Dallas’ most vocal leaders watching closely.

“If he’s our guy, I hope he dominates,” Parsons said. “But if not, we just burned a first-round pick. Again.”

The message was clear: the time for development projects is over.
