Der ehemalige ManUnited-Star Patrice Evra (43) spielte von 2006 bis 2014 für die „Red Devils“. Insgesamt absolvierte er 379 Pflichtspiele und gewann einmal die Champions League. Anschließend wechselte er zu Juventus Turin (2014 bis 2017), wo er nicht weniger erfolgreich war und 82 Partien machte. 2019 hängte er dann seine Karriere bei West Ham an den Nagel.

Jetzt feiert Evra nämlich seine Premiere in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Nach eigenen Angaben hat Evra bereits einen Vertrag mit der Kampf-Promotion PFL unterschrieben. Schon am 23. Mai soll er in der Accor Arena in Frankreich in den Ring steigen. Bisher ist aber nicht bekannt, wer gegen ihn antritt.

Auf „X“ kündigt er seinen Einstieg in die MMA an und bringt sogar den ehemaligen Urugay-Stürmer Luis Suárez scherzhaft ins Spiel: „Ich trainiere jetzt offiziell für meinen ersten Kampf mit @PFLEurope. Sie werden meinen Gegner auswählen… Sie haben gefragt, gegen wen ich antreten will. Ich habe gesagt: Luis Suárez. Ich zahle aus eigener Tasche. Er kann mich sogar beißen.“
Wie meint er das denn? Höchstwahrscheinlich spielt Evra auf die Beißattacken von Suárez an, die in die Geschichte des Fußballs eingingen und für Aufsehen sorgten. 2011 gerieten er und Suárez ebenfalls aneinander. Der Uruguayer hatte den Franzosen rassistisch beschimpft, erhielt daher eine Sperre von acht Spielen.
