Without a doubt, the rivalry between Eli Manning and Tom Brady is one of the most intense and even entertaining in NFL history. The younger Manning faced Brady in two Super Bowls and managed to defeat him in two games that were decided in dramatic fashion.
The first meeting was in 2008, when Brady’s Patriots were coming into the game undefeated, while the Giants, led by Eli Manning and with a strong defense, won 17-14. Eli was named MVP, and it was his first Super Bowl ring.

The story repeated itself four years later when the Giants again defeated the Patriots 21-17 in the NFL’s big game, where once again, Eli was named MVP. Despite Brady’s seven Super Bowl wins and the fact that many consider him the greatest player of all time, those two losses left an indelible mark on him.
Eli Manning is considering buying a stake in the New York Giants
It seems the rivalry between the two will continue. Tom Brady has a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders. In 2023, Brady joined the team’s ownership group by purchasing a small share of the franchise. Now, according to reports, it seems Eli Manning is looking to follow a similar path.
In early 2025, the Giants announced they were exploring the possibility of selling a minority stake in the team, and former Giants quarterback Eli Manning expressed interest in acquiring a share in an NFL team.
A Bloomberg article states that Manning is working on an investment group with the aim of bidding for part of the New York Giants’ ownership.
In February, the New York Giants reported that the Mara and Tisch families had hired Moelis & Co. to explore the possibility of selling a minority, non-controlling stake in the team.
It has been reported that Eli Manning has spoken with individual investors, including retired NFL players, to achieve his goal. However, the potential investors requested to remain anonymous due to the confidential nature of the discussions.
