Köster freut sich auf sein 71. A-Länderspiel: „Es ist ein schönes Gefühl und eine große Ehre. Auch wenn es nur für ein Spiel ist, bedeutet es mir viel, und ich freue mich einfach, unsere Mannschaft in Stuttgart aufs Feld führen zu dürfen.“
Der Rechtshänder ist bereits seit 2022 Kapitän des VfL Gummersbach. Eine der ersten Aufgabe als stellvertretender DHB-Kapitän war am Freitagabend sehr angenehm: die Übergabe eines Geburtstagskuchens an den 25 Jahre alt gewordenen Juri Knorr.
