It was the kind of moment you don’t expect from an NFL power couple but one that fans can’t stop replaying. On the field at a Kansas City women’s soccer match, Brittany Mahomes suddenly tried to pull off a slick, street style soccer move on her husband, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. With a little bounce in her step and perfect timing, she went for what the soccer world knows as a nutmeg: a cheeky attempt to slip the ball between someone’s legs.
The crowd around them wasn’t expecting it, and that’s what made it so fun. Brittany, with a confident smirk, waited for Patrick to take a step forward. As soon as his stride widened, she made her move. Phones were already out, cameras already rolling; it felt like something big was about to happen.
Brittany went for a playful move on Patrick Mahomes
The two were on the field at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, where they both serve as co-owners of the Kansas City Current, a National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team. As ambassadors of the sport in their city, the Mahomeses are often spotted cheering on the team, interacting with fans, and occasionally like this time getting playfully competitive with each other on the pitch.

Brittany didn’t quite pull it off. Right as she was about to sneak the ball through, Patrick instinctively brought his foot back and blocked it just in time. No tunnel. No highlight reel glory. But what came next may have been even better laughter, playful teasing, and a moment of pure chemistry that reminded fans why they love this couple so much.
The Mahomeses have long embraced the intersection of sports and family fun. Brittany, a former college soccer player herself, has never been shy about showing her love for the game or for Patrick. And Mahomes, despite being one of the NFL’s top athletes, clearly enjoys these light-hearted moments off the field. It’s not just about wins and stats for this duo it’s about community, connection, and, clearly, a little healthy competition.
