Drake unveils new curse that haunts Justin Bieber and wife Hailey

In the wake of the Toronto Maple Leafs‘ crushing 6-1 defeat to the Florida Panthers in Game 7, Canadian rapper Drake has attempted to redirect the long-standing superstition of his own alleged jinx on sports teams onto fellow pop star Justin Bieber.

Drake, who had wagered $1 million on the Maple Leafs advancing, humorously pointed the blame elsewhere after the team’s disappointing elimination in a fun sense of humor as his misfortune struck once again.

Justin Bieber deletes strange filtered rant after bizarre faith monologue

Bieber curse…” Drake, real name Aubrey Graham, wrote on his Instagram Story by referencing Justin and Hailey Bieber‘s attendance at the Scotiabank Arena on Sunday, May 18.

The 38-year-old’s million-dollar bet would have earned him over $2.1 million had the Leafs advanced, but the team’s collapse continues a narrative that’s haunted him throughout his betting career.

Jennifer Lawrence recalls ‘extremely isolating’ postpartum period

The married couple appeared at the venue wearing stylish outfits rather than traditional team apparel, but found themselves disappointed as the Maple Leafs had no response to the Panthers.

It was a play on the so-called “Drake Curse“-a reputation the rapper has developed after backing numerous athletes and teams only to watch them fail in spectacular fashion, despite promising odds.

In 2019, he supported Alabama in the College Football Playoff championship, yet the Crimson Tide lost 44-16 to the Clemson Tigers. He also publicly backed Conor McGregor ahead of his 2018 bout against Khabib Nurmagomedov, which ended in a submission defeat.

Similarly, Serena Williams suffered a shocking loss at the 2015 U.S. Open after being seen with Drake in her player’s box in the semifinals contest in New York City. The loss to Roberta Vinci cost her a shot at a Grand Slam.

Drake endorses petition to pardon Tory Lanez

Drake is also voicing public support for fellow Canadian artist Tory Lanez, who is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence following his 2023 conviction for shooting Megan Thee Stallion.

“@torylanez come home soon,” Drake posted to Instagram, including a link to a Change.org petition calling for California’s Governor, Gavin Newsom, to grant Lanez a pardon.

The campaign argues that Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, was not convicted based on sufficient physical evidence. The petition claims that the justice system failed him and that political motivations influenced his sentencing.

More than 250,000 individuals have signed the petition to date, seeking not only Lanez‘s release but broader criminal justice reform, particularly after Tory was stabbed 14 times in prison recently.

Lanez was tried and convicted in a California state court so Newsom does possess the authority to issue a pardon, however, legal experts suggest such a move is highly improbable.

Lanez was convicted of three felony charges stemming from a July 2020 incident in which he was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot during an argument. But new claims suggest it wasn’t him at all.

4 Takeaways From the Blue Jays’ ALCS Game 6 Win Over the Mariners

While the National League Championship Series was decided with the minimum, the AL counterpart will go the maximum. With a chance to reach the World Series for the first time in their franchise’s history Sunday night in Toronto, the Mariners were stifled in Game 6 of the ALCS by a 22-year-old rookie starter who had other ideas in a 6-2 Blue Jays win, setting up a winner-take-all Game 7 on Monday night. Here are my takeaways: 1. With the season on the line, Jays’ rookie wins the battle The last time Trey Yesavage and Logan Gilbert faced off in Game 2, neither left with an impressive line. Yesavage was unable to baffle Blue Jays hitters with his splitter the way he did against the Yankees in the American League Division Series, while Gilbert looked rusty coming off just two days of rest after being […]

Dak Prescott Is Playing Like an MVP, and the Cowboys Defense Finally Did Its Part

ARLINGTON, Texas - What if your quarterback has an MVP-caliber season, but your defense is so bad you can't even make the playoffs? Call it the Joe Burrow effect. It was one thing when the Cowboys scored 40 and managed only a tie against the Packers, another when they scored 27 and still lost to the Panthers. So, this past week, in defensive meetings, the message was clear and urgent for Dallas players: Don't let an amazing season by Dak Prescott get buried in high-scoring losses."We talk about it all the time: When you've got an offense like this, that's a championship offense, and we don't want to let that go to waste," defensive tackle Kenny Clark said. "I'm just being real. We have to keep improving and keep stepping up, because they're balling. They're putting up points, and you saw today, […]
