The New York Knicks have long been haunted by whispers of a “curse,” a narrative fueled by decades of struggle despite their storied history and passionate fanbase. Since their last title in 1973, the Knicks have endured long stretches of mediocrity, missing the playoffs in 15 of the last 25 seasons and not advancing past the first round for 12 years until 2013.
High-profile failures, like the Jeremy Lin phenomenon fizzling out and a 17-65 record in 2014-15-the worst in franchise history-cemented their reputation as a “loser” team. However, recent years show signs of breaking this so-called curse. In 2021, the Knicks returned to the playoffs after an eight-year absence, a moment hailed as the end of their “pupas” era. Nyní byli dva muži z této severské země přeřazeni o patro níž do IBU Cupu. Isak Frey a Endre Stromsheim budou závodit ve druhé nejvyšší výkonnostní úrovni, a to navzdory tomu, že kupříkladu Frey na první zastávce Světového poháru ve švédském Östersundu skončil ve sprintu devatenáctý a ve stíhačce dokonce desátý. Stromsheim byl 52. ve sprintu a ve stíhačce 38. Ovšem během víkendu v rakouském městečku Obertilliachu v IBU Cupu zabodovali biatlonisté Johannes Dale-Skjevdal a Sivert Bakken. V nedělním závodu na 10 kilometrů volně v norském Trondheimu slabší závodníci startovali z předních pozic, přestože by normálně vyrazili až jako poslední. „Kvůli nabitému programu v Trondheimu a krátkému dennímu světlu jsme je museli poslat na začátek startovní listiny, jinak by závod trval příliš dlouho a kolidoval by s kombinací,“ vysvětlil ředitel závodů FIS Michal Lampot.Jenže z toho vznikaly problémy.
