O Fluminense anunciou neste sábado (24) a renovação de contrato com o goleiro Fábio. O novo vínculo vai até dezembro de 2026, garantindo a permanência de um dos pilares do elenco campeão da Libertadores de 2023. Aos 43 anos, o camisa 1 atingiu no mesmo dia a marca de 216 jogos pelo clube, na vitória por 2 a 1 sobre o Vasco, pelo Campeonato Brasileiro.
Desde que chegou às Laranjeiras em 2022, Fábio conquistou títulos importantes com a equipe: além da Libertadores, levantou a taça da Recopa Sul-Americana em 2024 e foi bicampeão carioca em 2022 e 2023. Experiente e regular, tornou-se uma liderança dentro e fora de campo.
– É mais um presente que Deus me concede, fazer parte dessa história que a gente vem escrevendo desde a minha chegada aqui no Fluminense. Estamos cada vez mais nos dedicando e melhorando para dar alegria ao nosso torcedor – declarou o goleiro ao site oficial do clube.
Com a renovação, Fábio pode chegar ao fim do contrato com 45 anos, mantendo-se como exemplo de longevidade e profissionalismo no futebol brasileiro. Ele também agradeceu o apoio da torcida e destacou o carinho que recebe em todos os lugares por onde passa.
