Moderatorin lässt Experten sitzen – für ein Date mit Beckham und Cruise!
Kate Abdo (43) sorgte kurz vor Anpfiff des Spiels Paris Saint-Germain gegen Inter Mailand (5:0) für eine riesige Überraschung.
[–>Die beliebte CBS-Moderatorin verabschiedete sich beim Champions-League-Finale live vor laufender Kamera von ihrem Expertenteam um Thierry Henry (47), Jamie Carragher (47) und Micah Richards (36): „Ich würde gerne noch bleiben, aber es warten heute Abend ein paar andere Freunde auf mich“, sagte sie charmant – und verschwand einfach aus dem Bild.
Die Kollegen staunten nicht schlecht – doch Abdo hatte natürlich vorgesorgt: Anita Nneka Jones übernahm das Zepter im Studio. Carragher jubelte laut: „Anita!“ Richards witzelte: „Ist das eine Auswechslung?“ Und tatsächlich: Torwart-Legende Peter Schmeichel (61) tauchte prompt mit der klassischen Auswechseltabelle eines Vierten Offiziellen auf – ein inszenierter Gag.
Richards frotzelte: „Endlich mal echte Qualität im Studio!“ CBS ist bekannt für seinen lockeren, unterhaltsamen Stil bei der Königsklasse – und auch diesmal gab’s wieder beste Unterhaltung. Die Chemie zwischen den Experten und Gästen ist längst Kult bei Fans.
Der wahre Grund für Abdos Abgang? Der US-Sender hatte für den Abend ein zusätzliches Format vorbereitet: „Beckham & Friends“ – mit niemand Geringerem als David Beckham und Hollywood-Star Tom Cruise!
Für Beckham ein besonderer Abend: Der Engländer trug 2013 selbst noch das PSG-Trikot und beendete seine Karriere im Pariser Prinzenpark.
Abdo moderierte den VIP-Stream von der Tribüne aus, während Jones im Studio übernahm. Später gesellten sich zu „Beckham & Friends“ sogar weitere Promis dazu, darunter Produzent Guy Ritchie und Schauspieler Stanley Tucci.

Indiana Pacers rookie Kam Jones was arrested on Monday morning after he was pulled over for driving erratically on an Indianapolis-area freeway while trying to get to practice, according to the Indianapolis Star.An Indiana State police officer allegedly spotted Jones driving around 90 mph and in an “erratic” way on I-65 in Marion County.
