Shedeur Sanders can save Kevin Stefanski’s job because the Cleveland Browns are running out of patience

A battle for the starting quarterback position is underway within the Cleveland Browns, but meanwhile, the team is gearing up for a new NFL season where their roster, which finished with a disappointing 3-14 record last year, will once again be put to the test.

Travis Hunter’s route running takes huge leap and looks sharper than WR1 Brian Thomas Jr.

While the team secured the second overall pick in the NFL Draft, it’s time for things to change, and Kevin Stefanski‘s name enters the equation.

Kevin Stefanski in the Hot Seat

The two-time NFL Coach of the Year finds himself in a precarious situation, with growing speculation about his future with the Browns, according to Pro Football Focus.

During Stefanski‘s tenure with the organization, there have been notable successes, but a glaring inconsistency has marked his five seasons as head coach. He has led the Cleveland Browns to a 40-44 record, including a postseason victory and two playoff appearances, but these achievements don’t overshadow the failures of recent seasons.

Given this scenario, another losing season could mark the end of his time as head coach of the Browns.

It’s recognized that Stefanski has been able to maximize performance from his roster despite often lacking elite talent, but in 2024, everything collapsed, resulting in a dreadful record.

The Cleveland Browns offense ranked last in the NFL, largely due to their ineffective passing game, which saw the team cycle through four different quarterbacks without finding consistency.

Nick Chubb, a star running back, was also far from his best after returning from injury. With the upcoming season, expectations are high for a turnaround, though we’re still waiting to see who will claim the starting quarterback role.

In this regard, two veteran quarterbacks-Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett-are expected to be the frontrunners to start in Week 1, but Shedeur Sanders has been turning heads with strong performances during the Browns’ practices.

Many fans are hopeful that Sanders will take the reins at some point during the season, leading to questions about whether the former Colorado quarterback could save Kevin Stefanski’s job-or at least extend his time with the Cleveland Browns.
