The tension between wide receiver Terry McLaurin and the Washington Commanders over his contractual frustration continues to heat up as he seeks a new long-term contract with the team.
On Thursday, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that the 29-year-old “Has made it clear to the team that he’s frustrated with the lack of progress on a long-term deal.”

Schultz previously reported that McLaurin left in the middle of OTAs after initially reporting to them. Whether or not he will be at the Commanders’ minicamp from June 10-12 remains unknown.
McLaurin is heading into the final year of his current contract after getting selected by Washington in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He signed a three-year rookie extension worth $68,364,000 in 2022.
The friction between him and the organization came after catching 82 passes for 1,096 yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns to clinch his second Pro Bowl nod this past season with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.

After an impressive campaign, McLaurin witnessed his team acquire Deebo Samuel and his $23.8 million salary in a trade from the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round pick. Samuel tallied 51 catches for 670 yards and three touchdowns in his sixth and final year with the 49ers.
Samuel joins McLaurin and veteran Noah Brown as the presumed starters ahead of 2025.
The Commanders went 12-5, advancing to the NFC Championship game before losing to the eventual Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles.
