Během nedávného srazu národního týmu Coufal uvedl, že by nejraději zůstal v Anglii, o návratu do české ligy aktuálně neuvažuje.
„Samozřejmě mám nějaké preference. Ideální by bylo zůstat v Anglii, to je asi úplná priorita. Ale zároveň se objevují i jiné možnosti někam do tepla, třeba Španělsko nebo něco takového by se mi líbilo. Uvidíme. O návratu do české ligy se zatím vůbec nebavím,“ řekl Coufal před kvalifikačními zápasy s Černou Horou (2:0) a Chorvatskem (1:5).
Fulham o Coufala stál už v zimě, ovšem tehdy ho West Ham neprodal. „To je fotbal. V tu chvíli mi řekli, že mě nepustí. Už jsem se přes to přenesl. Měli na takové rozhodnutí právo, byl jsem jejich hráč. Teď už je to všechno jedno,“ komentoval to Coufal.
V Evertonu má zase silnou vazbu na trenéra Davida Moyese, jenž ho do londýnského klubu přivedl a pravidelně ho stavěl. Oba se dobře znají. Wolverhampton se zase poohlíží po náhradě za odcházejícího Nélsona Semeda.
