Max Kruse gibt Vollgas!
Seine Fußballkarriere hat Kruse im Winter 2023 beendet. Seither versucht er sich in einer anderen Sportart: Kruse ist jetzt Rennfahrer! Und auch da setzt er sich große Ziele: Am Wochenende fährt er beim 24-Stunden-Rennen am Nürburgring mit.
[–>Kruse gegenüber RTL: „Es war in den vergangenen Jahren nicht möglich, meine Lizenz und mein Permit zu machen, weil ich am Wochenende immer Fußball hatte. Aber jetzt habe ich Lizenz und Permit, und dann war für mich klar, dass es so schnell wie möglich auch Richtung 24-Stunden-Rennen gehen wird.“
Neben Le Mans ist am Nürburgring das bekannteste 24-Stunden-Rennen. Vor allem dank der Nordschleife: 20,8 km führt sie durch die Eifel. Ein Mythos, den Kruse jetzt am eigenen Leib erfahren wird. Rund um die Uhr rasen die Fahrer durch die Grüne Hölle – abwechselnd zwar, trotzdem sind viel Schlaf und Ruhe kaum möglich.

Wie er sich darauf verbreitet hat? „Gar nicht“, sagt Kruse selbst. Sein Vorteil? „Mein Schlafrhythmus ist sowieso gestört, von daher wird es für mich nicht so schwierig sein, auch nachts auf den Punkt da zu sein.“
Weiter erklärt der Ex-Bundesliga-Star: „Natürlich wird es ein bisschen was anderes, weil du vielleicht mal nur zwei Stunden Schlaf bekommst. Aber ich glaube, das Adrenalin hält dich sowieso schon wach.“
Antreten wird er in einem Wagen seines eigenen Teams. Sein Golf, der in einer Sonderklasse für Fahrzeuge mit alternativen Kraftstoffen startet. Das Team „Max Kruse Racing“ gründete er bereits 2018 – während er noch aktiv auf dem Rasen stand. Sein Partner ist Benjamin Leuchter (37), den er 2015 bei einem Fahrtraining kennenlernte.

Leuchter gehört nicht zu Kruses Nürbrugring-Crews. In dem Golf 7 GTI TCR DSG sind neben Kruse die drei Schweizer Rennfahrer Christoph Lenz, Dario Stanco und Armando Stanco gemeldet.
Ebenfalls für „Max Kruse Racing“ am Start: Fabian Vettel (26) – Bruder des viermaligen Formel-1-Weltmeisters Sebastian Vettel. Er wird allerdings in einem anderen Golf des Teams fahren.
