Da Inter de Milão que eliminou o poderoso Barcelona na semifinal da última Champions League e depois levou 5 a 0 do PSG na decisão, o time que entrou em campo nesta quarta-feira, na vitória por 2 a 0 sobre o River Plate, que valeu vaga para as oitavas de final da Copa do Mundo de Clubes, tem apenas três alterações — todas por problemas físicos. O desempenho variou na competição, que marca a estreia do novo técnico Christian Chivu. Mas essa incógnita que é a atual vice-campeã europeia pode ser muito perigosa para o Fluminense, rival no mata-mata, na segunda-feira, em Charlotte.

No único confronto com um time europeu que fez neste Mundial, o tricolor surpreendeu os alemães com a intensidade defensiva, explorou as linhas altas aurinegras e por pouco não saiu com a vitória, permanecendo com o placar zerado. Até aqui, os italianos não parecem um dos grande bichos-papões do torneio, uma vez que fizeram jogos ruins no empate em 1 a 1 com o Monterrey e na vitória por 2 a 1 sobre o Urawa Red Diamonds nas duas primeiras rodadas. Mas a vitória sobre o River mostrou que há uma identidade e um possível viés de alta nascendo ali.

Chivu manteve a linha de três defensores, o meio com dois alas e a dupla de ataque que Simone Inzaghi, antigo treinador, utilizava. Sem os lesionados Pavard e Çalhanoglu e o desgastado fisicamente Thuram, utiliza Darmian, Asllani e Esposito, respectivamente. Num jogo em que provavelmente terá os laterais restritos pela movimentação de Dumfries e Dimarco, o Fluminense precisará muito de uma saída rápida pelo meio-campo e das associações de Arias e Canobbio com os meias mais centralizados. As inversões de jogo tendem a ser muito importantes na construção e transição ofensivas. Na defesa, é preciso ter atenção na compactação entre as duas últimas linhas. Mesmo tendo marcado poucos minutos depois da expulsão do zagueiro Lucas Martínez Quarta, a Inter explorou muito o espaço entre o meio e a linha de defesa do time de Marcelo Gallardo no segundo tempo. Especialmente depois da entrada do croata Susic, autor da primeira assistência.

Antes do gol, foram várias as chegadas perigosas de Lautaro, que mostrou ser capaz de se livrar de um ou até dois defensores no mano a mano — no fim, a fragilidade dos argentinos permitiu até que o zagueiro Bastoni avançasse até chegar ao gol. Permitir o menor número possível de duelos um contra um, mesmo que tenha Thiago Silva em campo, é essencial para que o Fluminense não se envolva num cenário perigoso.
