The 2025 edition of the ESPY Awards was held on July 16 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, where sports figures gathered to learn about the best of the last year in competitions, iconic moments, outstanding performances and unforgettable comebacks. The gala was hosted by comedian Shane Gillis.
Since its inception in 1993, the ESPY Awards have been hosted by ESPN to honor the year’s most outstanding athletes and teams, as well as to recognize inspiring moments on and off the field. Beginning in 2004, journalists, sports executives and ESPN figures joined the public vote in selecting the winners.
In this edition, the spotlight was on athletes such as Shohei Ohtani, who could not attend due to his participation in the MLB All-Star Game, Simone Biles, who shone again at the Paris Olympics, Caitlin Clark, the WNBA sensation, Saquon Barkley with multiple nominations and breakout pitcher Paul Skenes

Getty Images Ethan Hawke wanted to be a real-life Rocky Balboa, but quickly realized the boxing ring wasn't his forte. Inspired by Sylvester Stallone's iconic performance in the "Rocky" film franchise, Hawke briefly pursued a boxing career. After one fight, however, Hawke realized he wouldn't cut it as a professional fighter. "I saw 'Rocky' and I decided I wanted to be a boxer," Hawke told fellow actor Sydney Sweeney for Variety and CNN's "Actors on Actors" series. "I took boxing lessons. Snoop Dogg has been appointed Team USA's first-ever honorary coach for the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games at Milano Cortina.The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) announced that "Coach Snoop" would join staff on the "team behind the team" tasked with supporting athletes in Italy. It comes after the rapper and entrepreneur hit the headlines as Paris 2024 as Team USA's hype-man and subsequent performance during the LA 2028 handover ceremony. Žabiny s Lublinem odehrály vyrovnanou první čtvrtinu (17:17), ale druhou prohrály 9:33 a bylo po zápase. Polský celek poté výhru ještě zvýraznil a české vicemistryně nakonec prohrály o 41 bodů.„Dnes jsme propadli úplně všude. První čtvrtina byla z pohledu Žabin ještě hratelná, zbytek utkání byl už ale velmi špatný.
