Um dos destaques negativos do Flamengo para essa eliminação na Copa do Brasil, diante do Atlético-MG, ficou para Wallace Yan. A jovem promessa rubro-negra, de apenas 20 anos, provocou os jogadores do Galo durante os dois jogos e acabou errando pênalti decisivo.
Em silêncio sobre as provocações, Wallace Yan fez um post nas redes sociais pedindo desculpas pelo pênalti perdido. De fato, o jogador sequer fez uma partida ruim durante a vitória por 1 a 0 na Arena MRV. Porém, na hora de fazer o seu gol na disputa de pênaltis, o jovem acabou isolando a bola no meio da torcida do Galo.
“A vida me ensinou a dar volta por cima, ver que após a tempestade o sol brilha, que a dor não dura para sempre. É só acreditar. Peço desculpas a Nação e farei de tudo para dar a alegria que vocês merecem”, disse Wallace Yan em seu perfil do Instagram.
Apesar da pouca idade, Wallace Yan vem mostrando grande personalidade no Flamengo nesta temporada. E não só isso, em campo ele vem entregando resultado, com 7 gols e 4 assistências em 23 partidas no time.

O técnico Filipe Luís, em sua entrevista coletiva, saiu em defesa de Wallace Yan, apesar do pênalti perdido em um momento tão importante. Assim, o comandante deu o seu apoio a uma joia da base que vem trazendo resultado ao seu time.
