Doch im Alter von 39 Jahren hat Falcao wohl immer noch nicht genug – und strebt offenbar ein überraschendes Comeback in Europa an!

Auch in Kolumbiens Nationalmannschaft hinterließ er seine Duftmarke, avancierte mit 36 Treffern in über 100 Länderspielen zum Rekord-Torschützen seines Heimatlandes. Doch Verletzungen und Formschwankungen warfen den Torjäger in den letzten Jahren immer wieder zurück.

Sein letztes Engagement: ein Jahr bei Millonarios FC in Kolumbien. Dort traf er immerhin sechs Mal in 13 Spielen. Sein Vertrag endete allerdings Anfang Juli, seitdem ist er vereinslos. Davor spielte er bereits zwei Jahre in Spanien bei Rayo Vallecano, allerdings mit überschaubarem Erfolg.
Für Murcia wäre ein Transfer des „Tigers“ sicherlich ein Coup mit Strahlkraft, auch wenn sportlich Fragen offen bleiben. Alter, Fitnesszustand und Gehalt könnten dem Deal im Weg stehen.
Trainer Joseba Etxeberria soll dem Bericht zufolge nun prüfen, wie Falcao in das ambitionierte Team passt, das den Aufstieg in die Segunda División anpeilt.
Kommt alles zusammen, würde sich Falacao sicherlich über einen letzten Tanz in Europa freuen.
