Lluvia de millones en la Champions: el ‘Valor Pilar’ cuenta casi tanto como el rendimiento deportivo

Vuelve la Champions y los 36 clubes participantes se preparan para el sorteo en Mónaco pero también para la posterior lluvia de millones que lleva pareja la competición reina del calendario. La pasada temporada UEFA revolucionó el formato de competición e incrementó en un 21% (400 millones más) el dinero a repartir como respuesta a la amenaza latente de la Superliga. En esta edición, la 71ª, el montante total a distribuir sube ligeramente de 2.437 a 2.470 millones, mientras que esta vez son la Europa League (de 465 a 565 millones) y la Conference (de 235 a 285) las competiciones que experimentan un notable aumento en sus premios.

El reparto económico, que se mantendrá hasta la temporada 26/27 en la que UEFA renegociará sus derechos audiovisuales como cada trienio, comienza con un fijo de 18,6 millones para cada uno de los 36 equipos que tomarán parte de la Fase Inicial, que consta de ocho partidos en los que el ganador suma 2,1 millones y en caso de empate añade 700.000 euros. Al acabar esa Fase Inicial perciben bonificaciones extra en función de su puesto en la clasificación, que van desde 0,7 millones del 16º clasificado hasta 10 millones del primero. Además de la recompensa de librarse de jugar una eliminatoria, los ocho primeros clasificados también añaden un bonus de dos millones, que será un millón para el ganador de cada una de las ocho eliminatorias de playoff. Por jugar los octavos cada equipo recibe 11 millones; 12,5 más por jugar cuartos; 15 por llegar a semifinales; 18,5 por ser finalista y el campeón tiene un bonus de 25 millones.

Tres conceptos de distribución

En la pasada edición el campeón, el PSG de Luis Enrique, sumó 118,7 millones por sus méritos sobre el campo al ir pasando rondas, a los que hay que añadir el dinero que recibió en concepto de Valor Pilar y que no se conocerá hasta marzo, cuando UEFA haga público su Informe Anual con el desglose de todas sus cuentas y las ganancias de cada club. Con el formato anterior el Real Madrid contabilizó como ganador de la Champions 23/24 un total de 141 millones. El Valor Pilar es uno de los tres conceptos que utiliza UEFA para repartir los 2.470 millones en premios y representa el 35% (864,5 millones) de ese total. Los otros dos bloques son el Rendimiento Deportivo en la competición (37,5%), que suponen 926,2 millones, y el 27,5% por Participación (18,6 millones de fijo para cada equipo al iniciar la competición, que suman 679,2 millones).

El Valor Pilar

Los 864,5 millones que engloba el denominado Valor Pilar se entregan en base al coeficiente de cada club y a los pagos del mercado de televisión y retransmisión radiofónica. Sustituye a la antigua cuota de mercado y engloba diferentes conceptos. Está dividido en dos partes: una europea y otra no europea. Si el mercado europeo abarca un 75% de los derechos de transmisión, se repartirá este valor en un 75% parte europea y un 25% parte no europea. En la parte europea, los países participantes se clasifican en función de la contribución de sus emisoras nacionales a los ingresos totales de los medios de comunicación. Los clubes de esos países se clasifican en función de sus actuaciones en las competiciones de UEFA de las últimas cinco temporadas. Además, se elabora una clasificación independiente utilizando el coeficiente UEFA de cinco años de cada club participante y la posición media de cada club en estas dos clasificaciones los ubicará en una clasificación del puesto 1 al 36. La parte no europea también utiliza el sistema de partes y se distribuye de acuerdo con el coeficiente UEFA de 10 años de cada equipo. Estos coeficientes no suman los puntos de bonificación por títulos que se tuvieron en cuenta en los cálculos de la UEFA para el ciclo 2021-24.
