Osasuna hizo caso a lo que pedía su entrenador en la previa del encuentro: aprender a competir. No hizo un gran partido, incluso sufrió y fue inferior durante casi toda la primera mitad, pero resistió y golpeó cuando tuvo que hacerlo. A última hora aprovechó el único córner que botó en todo el encuentro -extrañísimo jugando en casa- para marcar la diferencia y llevarse los tres puntos ante un Getafe que terminó frustrado, justo como el cuadro azulón suele dejar a sus rivales. 10 puntos suma Osasuna, los 10 en El Sadar, que nunca falla. Para el Getafe, que dio la cara, se adelantó y no estuvo lejos de ganar, son cuatro jornadas sin ganar.
Sorprendió de inicio la actitud de Osasuna, que suele ser un equipo que en casa va a por el rival. Esta vez decidió esperar, quizá para no equivocarse y dar metros a un equipo que es especialista en aprovechar los errores rivales. Le salió mal al cuadro de Lisci, porque el Getafe durante un buen rato jugó quizá los miutos más cómodos de lo que lleva de curso. Mandó con Luis Milla como mariscal, dispuso de la pelota en porcentajes que no on usuales en el cuadro azulón y merodeó el área de Osasuna. Borja Mayoral no acertó a controlar una buena jugada entre Mario Martín y Sancris, pero sí remató a gol unos minutos después un caramelo de Luis Milla, que la puso perfecta entre Catena y Boyomo. Es el quinto pase de gol de Milla en lo que va de temporada en ocho jornadas. Una barbaridad.

Estaba el partido absolutamente donde lo quería el Getafe, con Osasuna maniatado -sólo Víctor Muñoz inquietaba en algún escarceo individual-, pero Mario Martín cometió un par de errores que metió al cuadro de Lisci en el encuentro. Primero vio una amarilla en una entrada de naranja que lesionó a Torró -el centrocampista de Osasuna no salió tras el descanso- y en el saque de esa misma falta se libró de un penalti por un fuera de juego de escasos centímetros. Osasuna, que apenas había inquietado, aprovechó la inercia y los seis minutos de añadido para igualar antes del descanso. Soria despejó mal de puños una falta frontal y la pelota le cayó a Bretones, que sacó un zurdazo soberbio desde la frontal. La buena primera parte del Getafe quedó en casi nada.

El segundo acto fue más nivelado. Bretones empezó a crecer por la derecha y puso varios balones de mucho peligro. En el otro lado, cada centro de Milla llevaba veneno. Eso sí, Herrera y Soria no eran grandes protagonistas, aunque el meta del Getafe sacó con la palma de la mano un remate de Raúl García. En el último suspiro, cuando Osasuna estaba a punto de irse del partido sin forzar un córner ante su afición, tuvo su oportunidad. La psuo Rubén García desde la esquina y apareció Catena para cabecear a gol. Estalló Lisci, los jugadores y El Sadar, que es un fortín.
