O pole position George Russell dominou o Grande Prêmio de Singapura, neste domingo, e conquistou sua segunda vitória da temporada, a quinta da carreira. Max Verstappen foi o segundo colocado com a Red Bull, mesmo após sofrer muita pressão de Lando Norris, da McLaren, nas voltas finais.
A Mercedes não vencia há oito corridas, desde a conquista também obtida por Russell no GP do Canadá. O jovem inglês chega a cinco triunfos na carreira em um ano dominado pela McLaren; a equipe britânica, porém, está agora há três provas sem ganhar – neste período, Verstappen chegou ao topo do pódio duas vezes.
Mas, com o terceiro lugar de Norris, a McLaren conquistou o título antecipado do Mundial de Construtores. Ainda faltam seis etapas para o encerramento da temporada. Esse é o décimo campeonato de construtores da escuderia, que superou a Williams. A maior campeã ainda é a Ferrari, com 16 conquistas.

Briga caseira
A corrida começou quente para os postulantes ao título e companheiros de McLaren: Lando Norris largou melhor do que Oscar Piastri, mas passou o líder do campeonato se tocando com o australiano, que achou a manobra agressiva demais para um companheiro de equipe.
Piastri cobrou uma intervenção da escuderia e escutou que eles conversariam depois da prova. O que se viu dali em diante foi uma sequência de reclamações do lado do australiano, acusando o colega de ter feito um “trabalho de merda” e que “não era justo” vê-lo à frente. Mas a McLaren deu de ombros.
Piastri segue na liderança do Mundial de pilotos; sua vantagem sobre Norris caiu para 22 pontos.
