Léto 2019. Sparta obměňuje kádr. Přivádí Michala Trávníka, svého pozdějšího lídra a kapitána Ladislava Krejčího, na hostování s opcí získává Dávida Hancka. A také kupuje za přibližně 30 milionů korun 23letého pravého beka a norského mládežnického reprezentanta Andrease Vindheima.
„Je fyzicky i pohybově velmi dobře vybavený. Nevynechá jedinou příležitost ve sprintu podpořit útok, má kvalitní cílený centr. S Malmö vyhrál dva tituly, zároveň pravidelně nastupoval v Evropské lize, kde podával velmi dobré výkony. Má mentalitu vítěze. Navíc je ve věku, kdy by se měl nadále zlepšovat a růst v kariéře,“ představoval ho sportovní ředitel Tomáš Rosický.
První sezona v rudém dresu se Vindheimovi, i přes počáteční svalové problémy, relativně povedla. Naskočil do 25 soutěžních utkání, zapsal bilanci 2+3 a pomohl k zisku domácího poháru. Ročník 2020/2021 začal podobně. Ale skončil bez trofeje a hlavně tím, že Vindheima začala na jaře opět trápit zranění.
Na podzim 2021 naskočil jen párkrát, v zimě se vydal na hostování do Schalke. Vrátil se, na podzim dal jeden duel za rezervu Sparty, a zamířil opět pryč. Tentokrát do Lilleströmu. Tam za půl roku zvládl tři soutěžní duely a ocitl se znovu na Letné.
Ale jen na chvíli, jelikož se přesunul do Teplic. Na severu Čech však nenastoupil ani jednou.
Sparta se s Vindheimem rozloučila v červnu 2024, kdy s ním neprodloužila smlouvu. Byl bez angažmá. Poslední soutěžní duel zapsal v květnu 2023 ještě v barvách zmíněného Lilleströmu.
Naděje vysvitla v březnu. Plácnul si druholigovým norským týmem Asane. Jde o klub z Bergenu, odkud Vindheim pochází, pro velký fotbal ho vychoval tamní Brann. Realita? Zatím bez jediného startu.

„Přišel se zraněním, které se mu nedařilo vyléčit. Nikdy se nedostal zpět do zápasové kondice. V této sezoně pravděpodobně hrát nebude a myslím, že po jejím skončení, kdy mu vyprší smlouva, odejde,“ odhaduje pro Sport.cz žurnalista Erik Madsen z týdeníku Asane Tidende.
Připomeňme, že v Norsku se hraje systémem jaro-podzim, tudíž dnes 30letý Vindheim bude brzy možná opět bez angažmá.
Za Spartu nastoupil v minulosti k 60 duelům, připsal si celkem tři branky a sedm asistencí. Byl povolán i do seniorské reprezentace, jenže nakonec byl jedním těch, kterým fotbalový osud nepřál.
