Whitmore had missed the last six games, and the last two was specifically due to right shoulder soreness, and after further evaluation it was determined that he had DVT.DVT can cause blood clots in the veins of the arms or legs, and has become more commonplace for NBA players to be dealing with it. Last season, Damian Lillard missed time after a blood clot was discovered in his calf. Similarly, Victor Wembanyama's season was cut short last season due to a blood clot in his right shoulder from DVT.
