G2 Esports continue hot start at PGL Bucharest

G2 Esports recorded their second straight sweep Monday as the group stage of the $625,000 PGL Bucharest 2025 event continued in Romania.

Aurora Gaming, 3DMAX and Complexity also improved to 2-0 by winning their Round 2 high matches at the 16-team Counter-Strike 2 competition.

The group stage is operating under the Swiss system format. The eight winning teams from Round 1 advanced to Round 2 high matches, and the eight losing sides moved to Round 2 low matches. Teams advance to the playoff stage once they win three matches.

All matches in the group stage are best-of-three, with eight teams advancing to the single-elimination playoffs. The grand final will be best-of-five, with the winner pocketing $200,000.

G2 Esports defeated Rare Atom 13-5 on Dust II and 13-7 on Ancient. Aurora also won via sweep, defeating Legacy 13-10 on Mirage and 13-7 on Anubis. 3DMAX sandwiched wins on Dust II and Inferno around a loss to Astralis on Ancient, with a final score of 13-7 on all three maps. Complexity opened with a 13-8 loss to FURIA on Dust II but rallied with 13-1 and 13-4 wins on Train and Inferno, respectively.

There were four Round 2 low matches on Monday, all decided by sweeps. GamerLegion defeated Team Falcons, Virtus.pro beat Team Liquid, Apogee Esports took down The MongolZ and FaZe Clan swept paiN Gaming.

The group stage continues Tuesday with eight matches:
