Formula unveiled for Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter to be selected by same team in NFL Draft

As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, speculation is heating up around two of college football’s most electrifying stars: Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter.

These Colorado Buffaloes teammates have already captivated fans at the collegiate level, and now, there’s a growing buzz about the possibility of them reuniting in the NFL.

ESPN analyst Dan Graziano recently stirred up conversation by predicting that Sanders and Hunter could end up on the same professional roster. While the idea seems far-fetched at first glance, especially with Hunter projected as a top-five pick and Sanders’ stock fluctuating, the logistics might be more feasible than they seem.

A bold draft strategy in the works?

Graziano suggests that a team picking early-such as the Cleveland Browns (No. 2) or New York Giants (No. 3)-could select Hunter in the top five and then trade back into the first round to secure Sanders. Although this would require giving up multiple assets, including valuable Day 2 and possibly 2026 picks, it’s not outside the realm of possibility.

“My bold prediction… is that Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders end up on the same team. I say either the Cleveland or the Giants take Hunter in the first round, and then trade back up into the first round to take Shedeur Sanders. I have no idea how realistic this is, or how likely it is, but it sure does sound like a lot of fun,” said Graziano.

The feasibility hinges on Sanders slipping into the mid-to-late first round. If that happens, teams already holding early second-round picks could maneuver up the board without sacrificing too much. This would allow them to recreate the dynamic duo that took college football by storm.

Hunter’s unique ability to dominate as both a wide receiver and cornerback makes him an invaluable asset. Meanwhile, Sanders, despite recent questions about his consistency, has shown flashes of elite quarterback play that could make him a steal if he drops.

Of course, this scenario isn’t without its challenges. A rival team-like the Pittsburgh Steelers-could swoop in and grab Sanders before such a trade is completed, especially if he’s still available in the late teens or early 20s.

Still, the dream of these two reuniting in the pros isn’t just fantasy-it’s a real possibility that could shake up draft night.
