The 2025 WNBA Draft brought the expected flurry of excitement and hope for many college stars.
But for TCU center Sedona Prince, it was a night of silence.

Sedona Prince’s off-court drama made teams take a pass
Once projected as a potential late first-round pick, the 6-foot-7 standout was left undrafted, a surprising twist given her rare size, collegiate success, and high postseason profile.
Prince, who helped lead the Horned Frogs to their first-ever Elite Eight appearance this past March, came into the draft with a complex profile.
While her on-court contributions during March Madness turned heads, including a 21-point performance against Notre Dame, she entered the night carrying the weight of controversy.
Multiple allegations of sexual and physical abuse from past partners have followed Prince in recent years.
ESPN reported that at least four women had accused her of intimate partner violence.
Prince has denied all claims and has not been charged with any crimes.
Her attorney, A. Boone Almanza, issued a statement before the draft dismissing the allegations as online smears, attributing the backlash to social media dynamics rather than legal wrongdoing.
Still, the accusations, combined with Prince’s injury history and age, she turns 25 in May, made her one of the draft’s riskiest prospects.
Despite being featured in several mock drafts, including a late first-round projection by Yahoo Sports, no WNBA team opted to take the gamble.
Prince’s college career was anything but traditional.
Spanning seven years and three schools, it included multiple NCAA waivers and a severe leg injury suffered while training with the U.S. national team before her freshman year.
Even during TCU’s postseason run, inconsistency marked her play, including a four-point, foul-troubled showing in their Elite Eight loss to Texas.
As ESPN analyst Ryan Ruocco addressed the allegations live during the draft, complete with an on-screen graphic, reactions on social media were swift and divided.
Some viewers praised the transparency, while others were stunned by the public callout on national television.
Whether Prince finds a path into the league through training camps or free agency remains to be seen.
For now, her absence on draft night is a reminder that talent alone doesn’t guarantee a place in the pros, especially when off-court issues cloud the picture.
