Deu Corinthians com emoção em Itaquera. Com direito a defesa de pênalti de Hugo Souza no segundo tempo, o Coringão resistiu à pressão do Palmeiras com um a menos durante boa parte da etapa final. O 0 a 0 na Neo Química Arena confirmou o título corintiano do Campeonato Paulista ontem (27).
No jogo de ida, o Timão treinado por Ramón Díaz venceu por 1 a 0 no Allianz Parque, com gol marcado por Yuri Alberto.
Corinthians abriu cinco títulos de vantagem sobre o Palmeiras
A taça erguida pelo Corinthians foi a 31ª da história do Paulistão, consolidando o time do Parque São Jorge como o maior campeão estadual ao quebrar um tabu de seis anos sem vencer a competição.
O Palmeiras, que buscava o primeiro tetracampeonato da era profissional, continua como o segundo maior vitorioso do Campeonato Paulista com 26 títulos.
Empatados na terceira colocação, aparecem São Paulo e Santos somando 22 taças cada. Curiosamente, no século XXI, o SPFC venceu somente duas vezes: em 2005 e em 2021. Já o Peixe não ganha desde 2016.
Paulistano continua como o único tetra consecutivo
Com a perda do título, o Palmeiras de Raphael Veiga, que perdeu um pênalti ontem (27), não conseguiu igualar o antigo Paulistano. O clube, que fechou seu departamento de futebol na década de 30 por não concordar com a profissionalização, obteve o tetracampeonato paulista entre 1916 e 1919.
Mesmo sem entrar em campo há quase 100 anos, o Paulistano segue como o quinto maior vencedor do Paulistão, com 11 títulos.
Entre os clubes em atividade, há outros campeões estaduais como Portuguesa de Desportos (3 títulos), Ituano (2), São Caetano, Juventus, Inter de Limeira e Bragantino (1 cada).
