Der ehemalige Rennfahrer hat einen „medizinischen Notfall“ erlitten. Das teilte seine Familie via Instagram-Post am Freitag mit. Worum es sich bei seinem Gesundheitszustand handelt, wird nicht genannt.

Der Post besorgt viele Fans – doch es gibt Entwarnung. Mass Familie schreibt in dem englischsprachigen Post: „Jochens Zustand ist zwar stabil, er wird sich jedoch bis auf Weiteres von allen öffentlichen Auftritten und Verpflichtungen zurückziehen, da er sich auf seine Genesung konzentriert.“
Weitere heißt es: „Wir als Familie sind zutiefst dankbar für die große Unterstützung und bitten um die Wahrung der Privatsphäre während dieser Zeit.“
Unter dem Post tummeln sich zahlreiche Genesungswünsche für den ehemaligen McLaren-Fahrer. Ein Fan schreibt: „Ich wünsche dir eine schnelle und vollständige Genesung, Jochen, die Legende!“
Seine Rennfahrer-Karriere
Mit einer Mechaniker-Lehre startete seine Motorsport-Karriere und nahm ihren Lauf in die Königsklasse. Von 1973 bis 1982 fuhr Mass in der Formel 1. 105 Rennen, acht Podiumsplätze und sogar ein Sieg. 1975 gewann er den Großen Preis von Spanien für McLaren.
Seine erfolgreichste Saison: 1977! Der damalige McLaren-Pilot (1975 bis 1977) landete in der Gesamtwertung der Motorsport-Königsklasse auf Rang sechs.

Mass selbst schrieb im „Express“: „Michael kam aus der Formel 3 zu uns. Er war schnell, aber er war es gewohnt, ein Einzelkämpfer zu sein. Ich sollte das Vorbild sein. In ein Werksteam eingebunden zu sein, war für Michael neu. Die Abläufe in einer so großen Mannschaft erfordern Disziplin. Er sollte an meinem Beispiel sehen, wie man mit Ingenieuren zusammenarbeitet und mit der Presse umgeht.“

Tiger Woods has suffered a further injury setback after confirming that he has undergone "successful" surgery on his back to try and limit "pain and a lack of mobility".The 15-time major winner had lumbar disk replacement surgery after he experienced pain in his lower back, the second time he has undergone back surgery in just over a year and at least the seventh he has had during his career.
