Carlos Alcaraz empieza a entrenar sobre la tierra 239 días después y viaja este sábado a Montecarlo

Carlos Alcaraz regresó el pasado jueves de sus mini vacaciones en la Riviera Maya después de caer en el debut del Miami Open ante David Goffin. 

El murciano, que ha disfrutado de una desconexión de nueve días, volvió con las pilas cargadas y está con ganas de afrontar la próxima gira europea de tierra. La pronta derrota en el segundo Masters 1000 del curso fue dura, pero está olvidada.

En su calendario aparecen de forma consecutiva los torneos de Montecarlo (6 al 13 de abril), Barcelona (14 al 20 de abril), Mutua Madrid Open (23 de abril al 4 de mayo) y Roma (7 al 18 de mayo). Y tendrá una semana de tregua antes de acudir a París para defender la corona de Roland Garros (25 de mayo al 8 de junio).

Samuel López, según ha podido saber MARCA, acompañará a Alcaraz en el próximo Masters de Montecarlo, certamen que se perdió el año pasado al lesionarse en el antebrazo derecho en el primer entrenamiento en la central del Country Club monegasco.

López se desplazará después con el campeón de cuatro grandes de Mónaco a Barcelona para el Godó. Estará con Alcaraz los primeros días de entrenamiento y Ferrero se incorporará ya en la competición cuando debute su pupilo.

Para encontrar la última vez que Alcaraz pisó la arcilla hay que remontarse al 4 de agosto de 2024 cuando cedió en la final de los Juegos de París con Novak Djokovic

Pasados 239 días ha vuelto este lunes al polvo de ladrillo. La espera se ha hecho más larga de lo habitual porque por primera vez en su carrera ha jugado sólo en superficie dura los tres primeros meses del año.

Montecarlo, un evento que se le ha dado bien a la Armada masculina -Rafael Nadal lo ganó 11 veces, Juan Carlos Ferrero (2), Sergi Bruguera (2), Carlos Moyá (1) y Manuel Orantes (1), se le resiste a Alcaraz. Baja por lesión en las dos últimas ediciones, perdió a la primera en su única aparición de 2022 con Sebastian Korda. Es el único de los nueve Masters 1000 en el que todavía no ha estrenado su casillero de victorias.

A excepción del sancionado Sinner, residente en el principado, el resto de top10 estarán todos en el inicio de la gira europea de tierra. Nadie quiere perder la ocasión de sumar 1.000 puntos en un torneo que va al computo de los 500.
