Raúl Rosas Jr. (11-1) brilló con luz propia el pasado sábado en el evento de UFC en Ciudad de México. El peleador local superó por decisión unánime a un Vince Morales que a punto estuvo de someterle, pero ‘El Niño Problema’ tiró de corazón y pudo imponerse a los puntos. Con esta victoria ha convertido en el peleador más joven de la historia de la UFC en conseguir cinco victorias, con 20 años y 177 días.
El que ostentaba ese récord hasta la llegada del mexicano era Vitor Belfort, ex campeón de la UFC. El brasileño logró esta hazaña con 21 años y 203 días, por lo que Raúl ha superado esta marca por más de un año. De esas cinco victorias, dos han sido por sumisión, una por TKO y otras dos por decisión unánime -sus dos últimas-.
‘El Niño Problema’ podría haber batido este récord incluso antes si no llega a cruzarse en el camino con Christian Gutiérrez, que le quitó el invicto en abril de 2023 imponiéndose por decisión unánime. Tras ese traspiés Rosas Jr. sumó cuatro victorias seguidas, y ahora se siente preparado para enfrentarse a un top 15 de la división de peso gallo.

“Yo calificaría mi actuación con un 8. Sé que tengo cosas que mejorar, pero estoy orgulloso de mí mismo por la manera en la que me mantuve calmado y paciente en posiciones peligrosas”, afirmó ante los medios tras su última victoria. Si bien estuvo a punto de ser finalizado, también dominó gran parte del combate y sumó otros 15 minutos de experiencia que le vendran bien a su corta edad.

Sin pausa pero sin prisa
A pesar de que muchos aficionados se mostraron descontentos por que Raúl no finalizase, el mexicano sacó pecho por su desempeño. “Siento que le pude golpear en el primer round, pero me esquivó algunos puñetazos y fui a por el takedown. Me hubiese gustado finalizar, pero estas peleas me dan más experiencia. Tengo solo 20 años, todavía creciendo y evolucionando, y acercándome un paso más al cinturón”, reconoció.
Uno de los objetivos a corto plazo de Raúl es convertirse en el campeón más joven de la historia, récord que ostenta Jon Jones -campeón con 23 años-. Aunque todavía tiene tres años por delante, quiere enfrentarse a algún rival rankeado lo antes posible.

“Pienso que debería pelear contra un top 15, o cualquiera que la UFC quiera ponerme para ser honesto. Estoy enfocado en el cinturón, no importa si está a 10 o 15 peleas. Ese es mi objetivo definitivo, más que nada. Espero estar de vuelta pronto contra un top 15″, finalizó.
