Der Kanadier musste zum Abschluss der Hauptrunde und in der Play off-Serie gegen Straubing (4:1) wegen einer Fingerverletzung pausieren. Jetzt kann der Kanadier aus Ottawa wieder mitwirken und verleiht dem Eisbären-Kader mehr Tiefe.
Bereits 2022 und 2024 war der Linksschütze im Eisbären-Trikot ein Mitgarant für den Meistertitel. In dieser Saison bildete er bis zur Verletzung u.a. eine Angriffsreihe mit Liam Kirk (25) und Lean Bergmann (26). In 43 Hauptrundenspielen erzielte Byron sechs Tore und gab dreiundzwanzig Vorlagen. Seine Stärke: In den Play offs spielt Byron sein bestes Eishockey.
Nach der Meisterschaft mit den Berlinern 2022 zog es den 78 Kilo schweren Stürmer nach Schweden in die Eliteliga. Doch in Oskarshamn wurde er nicht glücklich. Berlins Sportchef Stephane Richer (58) hielt die Verbindung zu Blaine und holte ihn 2023/2024 zurück nach Berlin. Am Ende stand die Meisterschaft. Transfer-Volltreffer!
