Harry Kane says that winning a trophy may “stop the noise” that has followed him for the majority of his career and confirmed that he is not thinking about leaving Bayern Munich.
Despite being one of the world’s most prolific goalscorers over the last decade, the 31-year-old is yet to lift any silverware in his 15-year career.

However, his Bayern side are six points clear of Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the Bundesliga as well as being in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. The German side will also compete in the newly revamped Club World Cup tournament in the United States this summer.
When asked about his career, Kane told ESPN: “I’ve done a lot of things that I wanted to do in my career so far. Of course, team trophies is the thing that everyone will go back to. Ultimately, you have to do your best in every situation, and I feel like I’ve done that.
“From when I set out, it was always about how consistent I can be. That was a big drive of mine. To consistently be one of the best players in the world. That drive will be with me until the end of my career, whether I finish with one trophy or 20 trophies.
“Ultimately, it (the lack of trophies) won’t change my mindset. We (Bayern) have another opportunity this year to win some trophies, and that would be incredible. Maybe that would stop that noise around me.”

The lack of team silverware is a criticism that has followed Kane for several years, from his time at Tottenham Hotspur to his career with the England national team, which he captains.
He failed to win a trophy with Bayern in his debut campaign last year.
“I think in football in general you will always have people that doubt and criticise you,” he added. “The most important thing is that you know what you are trying to achieve. Your teammates respect you for how you work, and the club and fans respect you. Ultimately, that is what I care about.
“I’ve been extremely close (to winning a trophy) but I haven’t got over the line, and that is part of the ups and downs of football. I got to a Champions League final with Tottenham (in 2019) and two finals with England (2021 and 2024). There have been a lot of good things.

“Football and sports in general are pretty cutthroat when you don’t get over the line. Everything else is pretty much forgotten about. That is what makes you who you are. Those learnings, those ups and downs. Ultimately, it is never a straight line to the top of the mountain. There are bumps along the way. The most pleasing thing is the motivation and the drive to keep being the best I can be.
“When it is all said and done, those conversations (over the best players of all time) will be had. That is not really in my control. I just try and be the best version of myself, and I feel like I’ve done that. There are still a lot of chapters to be played out in my career.”

Kane who joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023, has again been in impressive form this season, scoring 33 goals in 38 games.
He is five goals clear at the top of the Bundesliga scoring charts with 22 and has scored 10 goals in the Champions League, one behind Barcelona forward and top scorer Raphinha.
The England international has two years left on his contract and has been linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena.
When asked about his future, Kane said: “I’m not sure. I’ve said throughout my whole career that I am not someone who likes to think too far ahead. I am extremely happy here. We have a fantastic team and coaching staff.
“I feel like while I am in my best condition, I want to play at the highest level possible and this is as high as it gets. I know a lot can change in football in a short space of time but ultimately, my focus is here (at Bayern). I am not thinking about any other team or any other league.
“I like to just go with the flow and at the moment, the flow is here at Bayern Munich. Few random stories out there (about his future). I don’t know where they’ve come from, but I am happy here at Bayern Munich.”
