Is a Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill reunion in the works? Shannon Sharpe drops a bombshell

Could Tyreek Hill be planning a return to Kansas City? A series of cryptic responses on X (formerly Twitter) has sparked speculation about the star receiver’s potential departure from the Miami Dolphins. Some analysts have stoked the flames, suggesting the “Cheetah” could reunite with his former team.

The 2024 NFL season concluded on shaky ground for Hill and the Dolphins. Miami’s underwhelming 8-9 record and failure to make the playoffs, coupled with Hill recording just 959 receiving yards-his lowest total since 2019-have fueled rumors that the receiver might seek a new home.

On Sunday, Hill added to the speculation by posting cryptic one-emoji responses to third-party rumors on X about his possible departure. Capitalizing on the buzz, Shannon Sharpe claimed that if Hill were traded, his most likely destination would be Kansas City.

Hill and Mahomes: Together again?

In the latest episode of his “Nightcap” podcast, Sharpe and co-host Chad Ochocinco dissected Hill’s situation in Miami. The pair agreed that if the Dolphins were to trade the Cheetah, they would need to do so before or during the first night of the 2025 NFL Draft to maximize their return.

Ochocinco asked Sharpe where Hill would thrive if he left Miami. Without hesitation, Sharpe said, “Back to Kansas City. That would be a good place for him.” The former Denver Broncos star added that Hill’s talent would make him a standout on any team.

Ochocinco echoed the sentiment, emphasizing Hill’s value to any offense that uses him effectively. “If an offense knows how to use him [Hill] the right way, all hell will break loose,” he said. However, Ochocinco ultimately argued that Hill’s best option would be to remain in Miami.

Hill shuts down the fumors (For now)

Hours after igniting the rumor mill, Hill did what he often does-defy expectations. Responding to an NFL Rumors post on X that claimed he was seeking a trade to a playoff contender, Hill dismissed the speculation with a simple, “Lol, another false narrative.”

For now, the AFC’s other teams can breathe a sigh of relief as a Hill-Mahomes reunion appears off the table. Yet, Hill’s unpredictable nature leaves open the possibility of further twists in this ongoing saga.

But the righty’s 2025 success, with a 2.62 ERA through six starts, is the product of simplification.“He does have a lot of ideas,” manager John Schneider said. “I think having his buddy Max (Scherzer) here sparked some more ideas. But we’ve found with Chris that sometimes less is more, and I think that’s kind of where he is right now.”In Sunday’s 5-1 loss in the nightcap of a doubleheader, Bassitt […]
