FIS umožnila pětici Norů, kteří jsou stejně jako funkcionáři podezřelí z manipulací s kombinézami na nedávném světovém šampionátu v Trondheimu, návrat ke skokanským aktivitám poté, co o víkendu skončila v Planici soutěžní sezona. „Dočasná suspendace byla potřebná k zajištění integrity soutěže. Teď už není nutná,“ konstatovala FIS. Jmenovaní skokani se budou moci opět „zapojit do tréninků a veškerých aktivit norského svazu i ostatních národních federací“.
Vyšetřování zvláštní komise podle FIS pokračuje a zatím není jasné, kdy skončí. Federace oznámila, že kombinézy zabavené 11. března v Oslu projdou v dohledné době dalšími technickými kontrolami. S Brevigem zůstávají do konce vyšetřování suspendováni asistent trenéra Thomas Lobben a člen servisního týmu Adrian Livelten.
Skandál v Trondheimu vypukl těsně po závodě na velkém můstku. Spustilo ho video z anonymního zdroje, na němž je skrz zalepená okna hotelového pokoje vidět, jak se norským skokanům po oficiálním očipování kombinézy upravují. Přihlížel tomu Brevig. Na základě videa podalo protest několik výprav a následovala dodatečná diskvalifikace norských skokanů včetně původně druhého Lindvika.
Zatímco Brevig později chybu veřejně uznal a svého chování litoval, skokani se od podvodu distancovali s tvrzením, že o úpravách materiálu nevěděli. Lindvik v Trondheimu předtím vyhrál závod na středním můstku, s Forfangem byl členem zlatého smíšeného týmu a oba s Pedersenem a Sundalem získali i bronz v soutěži mužských družstev. Výsledky těchto závodů zatím zůstávají v platnosti.
