„Ich habe auch Vertrag für die 2. Liga. Wenn der Verein mich behalten möchte, dann bleibe ich sehr gern“, sagt er zu SPORT BILD.
„Wenn er mich nicht behalten möchte, weil ich meinen Job nicht erledigt hätte, dann müssen wir natürlich sprechen. Ich gehe davon aus, dass wir 1. Liga spielen und möchte natürlich nicht 2. Liga spielen. Aber falls es doch dahin geht, dann habe ich Vertrag und werde den auch erfüllen, wenn es der Verein möchte.“

Kristjansson: „Ich bleibe trotzdem optimistisch. In der Bundesliga hast du jede Woche schwierige Spiele. Wenn wir den Klassenerhalt schaffen wollen, müssen wir auch mal überraschend punkten – so wie gegen Hannover.“ Gegen den Top-Klub gab es daheim einen Punkt.

Kristjansson: „Noch haben wir es in der eigenen Hand. Ich glaube an die Mannschaft und auch daran, dass ich der Mannschaft vorn und hinten helfen kann. Und wir haben eine starke Heimhalle, in der die Fans ordentlich Druck machen können.“
