Aunque todos los ojos del ciclismo están puestos en el Tour de Flandes para este fin de semana, prueba en la que se encontrarán de nuevo los grandes gallos del deporte, Tadej Pogacar no se olvida del siguiente gran reto que tiene por delante. El esloveno ha elegido la edición de 2025 de la París-Roubaix para debutar en la prueba, y ya ha dejado claro que no va a ir al ‘Infierno del Norte’ solamente de paseo.
Es la primera vez que Pogacar va a hacer frente a los tramos de pavés del norte de Francia, por lo que quiere ir bien informado. Ya reconoció el territorio junto a su compañero de equipo Tim Wellens en el mes de febrero, lo que despertó todos los rumores sobre su participación en el Monumento. Y ahora, son sus datos en la aplicación ‘Strava’ los que permiten afirmar que Tadej está más que preparado para las exigencias de la carrera.
Evidentemente, los datos registrados en un entrenamiento, sin la presión de la competición, no son definitivos, pero sirven para asustar a sus rivales. En una sesión de 212 kilómetros de largo y más de 5 horas de duración, Pogacar recorrió varios de los tramos adoquinados de la París-Roubaix. Ha conseguido el récord de la aplicación en tres de ellos: Auchy-les-Orchies, Gruson y, sobre todo, Mons-en-Pévèle, que podría ser decisivo durante la prueba por su longitud (tres kilómetros) y su dificultad.
Amenazando el récord de Van Aert
Además, en el tramo de Carrefour de l’Arbre, igualmente decisivo, se ha quedado a sólo un segundo del mejor tiempo registrado, que tiene en su poder Wout van Aert. El belga ha reconocido en varias ocasiones que la París-Roubaix está entre sus carreras favoritas, pero, aunque ha participado en cinco ocasiones, nunca la ha ganado. Y, si Van Aert tiene que ser el gran rival de Pogacar, teniendo en cuenta el estado de forma en el que se encuentra el belga, Tadej se postula como uno de los principales favoritos.
Este ha sido el último gran entrenamiento de Pogacar antes de comenzar la concentración junto al UAE Team Emirates en Bélgica para el Tour de Flandes, la siguiente fecha señalada en rojo en su calendario. Aunque el esloveno ya ganó el segundo Monumento del año en su edición de 2023, después de caer contra Van der Poel en la Milán-San Remo seguro que tendrá entre ceja y ceja sumar otra gran victoria esta temporada.
