De hecho, es difícil saber qué posición ocupan si pensamos en el potencial real del RB21. Mad Max es tan rematadamente bueno que incluso está luchando por lograr un quinto título consecutivo. Un logro que a día de hoy parece una quimera.
Las aguas corren revueltas en el seno de la entidad de Milton Keynes. Se fueron Adrian Newey (a Aston Martin) y Jonathan Wheatley (a Sauber). Y encima se ha montado un lío tremendo con el cambio que han efectuado en su alineación de pilotos para el primer equipo. Han degradado a Liam Lawson tras dos grandes premios en los que el neozelandés estuvo desafortunado. Y en su puesto han colocado a Yuki Tsunoda, que en un principio parecía la opción más lógica para acompañar a Verstappen cuando fulminaron a Checo Pérez.
A lo mejor, Red Bull debería haber colocado en ese asiento a un Carlos Sainz que estaba en el mercado. Ferrari decidió realizar un fichaje galáctico con la contratación del heptacampeón Lewis Hamilton y eso implicó la salida del ’55’. A la postre, el madrileño se ha enrolado en las filas de Williams, ya que no encontró con un proyecto mejor por el que apostar.
Un error garrafal según Alguersuari
El que piensa que la escudería austriaca se ha equivocado al no contratar a Carlos (cuatro victorias, seis poles y 27 podios en su currículum) es Jaime Alguersuari. El expiloto de la estructura energética no ha tenido pelos en la lengua a la hora de criticar a los de Milton Keynes. “El problema que ha tenido Red Bull es que han dejado escapar a Carlos. Lo tenían que haber firmado, y que los dos hagan equipo. Ha hecho equipo con Leclerc. ¿Que Max no puede hacer equipo? Pues aprende. Porque su padre no le ha enseñado a trabajar en equipo, desde que tenía seis años“, ha subrayado en declaraciones a SoyMotor.com.

Los dos son muy buenos. Quieres tener la mejor pareja posible con un coche no dominante, tienes que sumar puntos en Constructores. Lo que está demostrado es que la decisión que han tomado (cambiar a Lawson por Tsunoda), les pone totalmente en duda. Es como decir ‘estamos totalmente perdidos’. Tenían la posibilidad de firmar a Carlos, no lo quisieron por miedo, porque Max puso mucha presión de ‘no quiero que me molesten porque yo estoy muy bien así, no quiero un compañero de equipo como Carlos‘, porque sabemos que Carlos le molesta. Al menos, los datos que tenemos es que Carlos le molestó mucho en Toro Rosso”, ha remachado Alguersuari.
